Shane van Gisbergen dominates with the Quantum Pro
The Australian Repco Supercars Championship is widely regarded as one of the most intense and closely fought Championships in the world. The closeness of the 26 car strong field highlights the incredible start Shane van Gisbergen has had to the 2021 season. Redbull Ampol Racings master behind the wheel has 7 straight wins in a row to his name including an iconic win at Sandown Raceway with a broken collar bone.
Second in the championship is 7 time Supercars Champion and team mate Jamie Whincup, who at the end of the year will retire from full time driving to assume the roll of Team Principal from Roland Dane. The duo are currently top the Drivers standings and leading the teams championship. So what is it about the team that sets them apart from the rest of the field?
Many factors come together to make this team the dominant stalwarts of the series and it starts back at the workshop with all the little 'one-percenters' they tick prior to a race event. Aside from the world class preparation, race craft, speed and experience of the drivers and team, Rebull Ampol Racing are the only team on the grid to be running Chillout Systems Quantum Pro in place of the former dry ice system.
The cooling system in the Triple Eight cars has been regularly commented on by technical commentator Mark Larkham and Shane van Gisbergen in post race interviews. Most notably after the northern rounds of Darwin and Townsville where cabin temperatures reach astronomical levels. Our Quantum Pro meets the teams needs of a more reliable, efficient and adjustable driver cooling system and is aiming to be the new industry standard with a more cost effective solution to driver cooling.
